Bio
Originally from Friesland in the north of the Netherlands, and living in England since 2013. I'm based just north of London in Hertfordshire.
My first websites were built with <table>, <tr>, and <td> tags. If you know, you know. Despite loving computers and hacking around with code early on, I took a detour and studied International Relations at university. Through a few roundabout turns, I found my way back to tech and never looked back.
I've spent over 12 years in the data and developer tooling space. I travelled the world teaching people data analytics and visualisation, built and architected learning platforms, and helped dozens of startups and enterprises adopt & deploy internal tools. These days I work predominantly in React and TypeScript, and I'm AWS certified. I was a Tableau DataDev Ambassador for two years, participated in hackathons, and genuinely love educating people on all things data and coding. Throughout all of it, I've been the technical person on the call who makes sure the customer gets what they actually need, even if that occasionally means saying 'no' to our own sales team.
Outside of work, I'm training for triathlons and generally chasing endurance goals on two wheels, two legs, or in the water. When I'm not behind a screen or out on a ride, you'll find me watching pretty much any sport going.
